Kathleen, thank you for sending in the list of Lactnetters around the
world. How impressive this is! I'd like to add my personal thanks to you
and Kathy A for starting Lactnet, and to all your current helpers who keep
it going. I joined in 1996 when there were 800 or so subscribers and
Lactnet has been a lifeline ever since, and lately a bridge into another
world!

It's quite a coincidence that you specially mention Dr David Bratt of
Trinidad. David and I "met" on Lactnet several years ago, swopping
occasional notes over the years, and I'm sure you'll be tickled to learn
that I just got back from Trinidad! David and I were finally able to meet
in person when I was invited to speak at the 25th anniversary conference of
TIBS, the wonderful Trinidad and Tobago breastfeeding support group. TIBS
has 30 dedicated volunteer counsellors, and a small busy office in
Port-of-Spain providing outstanding breastfeeding help to mothers in the
face of difficult hospital practices and stiff competition from industry.
If I'm not mistaken, TIBS subscribe to Lactnet and the visionary lady who
founded the organization has just become IBCLC too. David has been TIBS'
medical advisor for 20 years and is the kind of baby-friendly paediatrician
you wish you could clone and dispense on demand, and a great conference
speaker. To top it off, the keynote speaker was Gabrielle Palmer.

A big Thank You Kathleen, for providing the forum where I have been able to
contact and then finally meet so many new friends all over the world.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Pamela Morrison IBCLC, Zimbabwe
