Ingrid's story reminded me of my own daughter's reaction the first time
she got a doll with a bottle attached. She had gotten a bottle only
once or twice as an infant. She had no clue at this time (around 2)
what it was for, but she figured out that it had something to do with
eating. She wound up repeatedly placing it into and out of the doll's
mouth just like she was feeding with a spoon!
She also was my "breastfeeding police" of sorts. Later, when she would
see a baby with a bottle, she would say, and not in a quite voice,"Look,
that baby has a bottle. Why isn't it's mommy nursing?" I usually
pretended not to hear her!
