Look, I'm not saying the lactation aid is the *only* way of
supplementing. I am saying it is the preferred way of supplementing,
because babies learn how to breastfeed by breastfeeding. Just like we
learn how to ride a bicycle by riding a bicycle.

I *almost never* use the SNS. I almost always use a #5F 36 inch
feeding tube which fits into a bottle with an enlarged nipple hole.
It is *not* messy if used properly. Indeed there is much less
spilling than if the baby is cup or even bottle fed. It is *almost
always* easy to use, though an extra hand makes it easier still.
Cost? About $3 Canadian ($2.50 US, about 15,000,000 Israeli
Shekels--just joking).

Of course you cannot use it if the baby is not latching on, but I've
gotten lots of babies to latch on using it, but that takes some skill
and experience.

I rarely have mothers who are reluctant to use it. It just may be
that I feel confident with it and others who say the same as you do
not.

Like all things, you need to know how to use it. If you know how, it
is easy.
