Many long moons ago I had a mom who had an abcess surgically opened with her 
first baby.  The incision was like a smile on the lower half of that breast. 
With subsequent babies it would engorge and then because nothing could get 
out, it would involute.  She nursed her next 4 just fine with 1 1/2 breasts 
and became an LLL leader :-)  I've also had a mom who was post mastectomy 
nurse her next baby just fine with one breast. I'm sure lots of others on 
the list can tell similar stories to reassure your mom.  Pat in SNJ
