Hi everyone,

As expected, the Massachusetts Public Health Council today took no action on
the formula marketing bags, killing the hopes for regulation banning the
gift bags as long as Mitt Romney is Governor. The Department of Public Health
apparently had no choice but to report that no action be taken, as a 10 year
old executive order allowed the Romney Administration to block the regulation
from even being submitted for a vote.

Plan B: The Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition will initiate a statewide
and national Ban the Bags campaign-- a website, _www.banthebags.org_
(http://www.banthebags.org) , with resources other hospitals can use. We will work
with Massachusetts hospitals individually to make more progress. We plan to
launch this over the summer. We've made a lot of progress. Despite the outcome
today, I feel very good about all we've accomplished. Our hard work is making
progress!
