My client went to see her OB, and was told there was no way it could be
retained placenta.  That this sort of thing was so rare as to pose a
non-existent risk.  The MD had no explanation for the failure of
lactogenesis, and admitted she was perfectly stumped.  But "Oh well, I guess
it just isn't going to happen."  She did not suggest an ultrasound or
prolactin screen, altho she had prescribed the 10 day course of Reglan
before I left for ILCA conf.

My client has the money to pay for a second med. opinion, and is going to
request an ultrasound and prolactin screen.  She is resigned to the loss of
the lactation, but not to not knowing what caused it.  Dr. Wight wanted to
know about breast shape, and Jeanne was curious about inter-pregnancy health
and breast changes.  The breasts look pretty normal.  Nothing tubular or
hypoplastic, and remember she lactated successfully with almost-4 yr. old
daughter.  No major illnesses, and I questioned her directly about stress:
"Marriage is good, house is good, job is good, relationship with kids is
good." was her reply.  I'll keep everyone posted.
