Jay: How about removing the stainless steel (which I have heard causes
allergic reaction in some) and replacing with porcelain. The porcelain is not
as sturdy but may eliminate the allergy problem. My family dentist tests any
materials he intends to use with applied kinesiology (which is a somewhat odd
technique but works well) and is able to avois many of these reaction
problems. You may also want to consider that it is the other materilas either
mixed in with the stainless steel, if there are any, or underneath the crown
that are causing the problem.
