To my view: This is well-marketed commodification of lactation support.

From their website: "Simply put, The Thompson Method, is a gentle,
evidence-based approach to birth and breastfeeding, which reveals strong
links between the way a woman’s birthing experience unfolds and her
subsequent breastfeeding journey."

That sounds a lot like what I know, and can do, as an IBCLC. From the
IBCLC Commission: "International Board Certified Lactation Consultants
(IBCLCs) are important members of the maternal-child health team
specialising in breastfeeding care.

IBCLCs have diverse backgrounds and work in a variety of settings, but all
have met rigorous eligibility requirements and passed an examination that
assesses knowledge in breastfeeding management. Working together with
families, policymakers, and the community, IBCLCs provide expert
breastfeeding and lactation care and advance global public health."

Any time I see parent- and baby- and lactation-related "things" being
lauded as THE ONE BEST WAY (whether it is breastfeeding, or sleeping, or
swaddling, or gut regulation, etc etc), I arch a cynical eyebrow when the
lauding is being done by someone with a vested, commercial interest in the
use/sale of the "thing."
