A colleague of mine is breastfeeding her 4 week old girl. About a week ago
she called me regarding what she described as "green poop". Of course, the
first thing that came to me was imbalance of hindmilk and foremilk (too much
foremilk, right?), but as we tried to correct it (one breast at a feeding,
longer feeds) nothing changed. She is beginning to pump, too, to save milk
for coming back to work, and that milk sure looks creamy to me. If she
pumps for 15 - 20 minutes, the top third of 4 - 6 oz. of milk appears to be
thicker and whiter.

The baby's growth is good, urine normal, plenty of wet and soiled diapers,
rare colicky behavior, but the poop remains streaked with a green color.
She also describes it to be interchangabily yellow / green (sometimes every
other diaper is green).

Any ideas?
