You are right that in relactation, galactagogues could be used. But the most
important part of relactation would be frequent, regular removal of milk
by feeding or expressing, creating a demand for more milk. Since later in
lactation the milk supply is more under autocrine control (supply and
demand) and less under endocrine control (hormones), that supply and demand
factor would still be my focus. Mother could certainly use medication, and
it might or might not increase the fuller side, if she is working more on
the less full side.
When the milk comes back in fuller, it will be mature milk, and not salty.
That is my understanding.
