O’Hara M-A. Bleb histology reveals inflammatory infiltrate that
regresses with topical steroids; a case series
[platformabstract].Breastfeed Med2012;7(Suppl 1):S-2.

Maryann O'Hara found that blebs form when milk products leak out of the
duct and cause inflammation in the surrounding tissues. A small dose of
topical steroid cream after nursing for several days to a week cleared
them, if I am remembering correctly. You can see the abstract citation
above.
