A subscriber in Victoria, BC (I think- you forgot to include your name in the
post!) writes about a mother whose baby has a 'shorter frenulum than most', a
small jaw and a hard suck, according to an IBCLC the poster referred them to.

I'd guess the hard suck is compensation on baby's part for the mechanical
challenges posed by short frenulum and small jaw.  I must have missed the
first post.  Did it say why frenulotomy was not an option?  That's certainly
what I would be trying for, since mother is in such pain she is considering
weaning at 8 weeks.  This is an emergency.
