Thank you for the wonderful research study. I will be sharing that with the MD's at the hospital where I work!

For research into the ways that colostrum impacts gut microflora and immune system development, I wanted to mention a webinar that I recently watched by Paula Meier at Rush University Hospital. It's really wondeful because she goes through the research for the new core measure. Many people do not understand the rationale behind the new core measure and she makes a compelling case for the years of evidence-based research to support it. The only thing is that it's through Medela, so I don't know if I'm violating a rule here by promoting something from Medela, but it really is an excellent compilation of the evidence in support of exclusive colostrum feeding for newborns.
