I agree with Karleen. A regular wine bottle contains 750 ml at 6-12%  
alcohol. The mother would consume 18 ounces in 5 days, that is less  
than 4 ounces per day. If the bottle is "larger than the regular  
size", it could be the 1.5 liter bottle and the mother would drink  
about 7 ounces (2 small glasses). Even at that, much of the alcohol  
would have turned to vinegar way before day 5. It would not taste that  
good either.

It might be a good idea to try to find out why the mother needs to  
drink alcohol every night. She may be traumatized to be separated from  
her baby all day and needs to wind down after a hectic day at work.
