Dear Lactnetters

We have here a breastfeeding mother, whose first child (no more BF, 28
months old) has a foot and mouth disease. She actually BF her second child
(one month), and is very afraid that the baby catch the disease (and also
the family doctor!). She as actually an important mastitis, and the doctor
ask about the possibility to have mastitis to the same virus. I have only
two lines about foot and mouth disease in my pediatrics books, and strictly
nothing otherwise. Does someone of you have some experience about this
disease ?
