"Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) is often used by midwives to ripen the cervix
and induce labor, so should not be routinely used in pregnancy unless
labor is desired. Often a higher dose is used for this, so possibly a
low dose may be ok. Tami Karnes, what do you think?"

My post on EPO did not advocate the use of EPO throughout pregnancy, but
rather during the last 6 weeks in women who had previously had cervical
dystocia--meaning that they had problems with a rigid cervix.  I hope this
clarifies my previous post on the use of EPO.  Very high doses would have
to be used to actually induce labor if a woman was not ready to go into
labor.
