I need some hard data on the reduction in risk of ovarian cancer for
a woman, around 40, who has bf 48 mos (2 kids) Her doctor advised
removal due to family history -- mom had 30 lb tumor removed, but
never bf; two aunts did bf (unknown time) and had ovarian cancer.
There is no evidence of cancer in woman at this time, who was not
herself breastfed. She needs info on statistics to better deal with
her health care provider and asked me what I knew. What I know,
besides the general fact thet a decreased risk of ovarian cancer has
been demonstrated in women who have bf, is that some of ya''ll
probably have the info available. Send to me personally and via
Lactnet, please, and I will forward to her as wel las enjoy learning
more about this subject.
