Hello Lactnetters,
I've been away for awhile. I'm catching up and enjoying posts from some
experts who have joined. I have a question. A mother of a 9 month old
experiences pain in the breast one hour after feeding. She describes it as
extreme aching. She had this experience earlier in one breast and not the
other. It was extreme enough that she weaned off that breast and has been
nursing on one side for quite awhile. Now the pain is beginning in her only
lactating breast. She is using "alleve" which helps. I'm sorry. I don't know
the correct chemical name. She wonders if this is safe. Baby is nursing only
twice a day, mainly because of the pain. Could it be "duct crampin"? Her
doctor suggests weaning.
Thanks in advance,
