I was discussing hospital culture change with our nurse-manager =20

breastfeeding symposium (thanks to Audrey Naylor for gracing =20 us again

So - how about "there's no medical indication for a pacifier with your =20

shop"...

Hi Kirsten,

I do not work in a hospital, however I was thinking: How about asking the
pharmacy to stock them and saying to the parents, "There's no medical
indication for a pacifier with your baby [at the same time mentioning the
problems it might cause], but it can be purchased in the pharmacy in the
hospital." It belongs in the pharmacy if it is a necessity, just like a
breastpump or crutches. I like the idea of getting away from the image that
it is a GIFT for the baby.
