I'd have answered her questions over the phone, talked about how to make
sure the baby was getting enough milk, and asked her to schedule a
follow-up appointment to re-assess the baby's ability to drain the
breast well if the mastitis symptoms recurr. I generally do not send
reports to HCPs about telephone contacts, or I'd never get done writing
(I do send one for every initial visit, and as needed if there are new
developments or observations during follow up visits.)
