A LLL leader who doesn't subscribe to the list asked me to post the
following.

Mom of a 2 month old nursling (nursing well and gaining well) took baby to
pedi dentist for a mouth lesion on underside of tongue, apparently being caused
by 2 natal teeth. LLL leader thought that the lesion looked like it might
be uncomfortable and causing some pain. Pedi dentist told mom to treat the
lesion with Vit. E oil daily until the lesion developed a "crust." LLL leader
quite concerned with Vit E toxicity in an infant, familiar with Hale's caution
on using pure Vit E oil. Mom stopped using Vit E on her own because she
thought that it was making the lesion worse. I don't know how long mom did use
it on the baby's mouth lesion. LLL leader looking for any information from
listmembers who might have had a similar experience. Short of pulling out the
teeth, which I thought they would have done after birth, what else can help
heal this poor little one's mouth? Thank you for your wisdom.
