I think we should start a list of reasons why women have been advised to
stop breastfeeding........  it would make for comical reading!!

I too, thought it was quite common to lose hair when the baby was
several months old. I certainly did with all 4 of mind.  And thank you
for that wonderful explanation of what happens.  I agree, if it is more
significant or more persistent than normal, then look for other reasons
as you would with any other sign or symptom of possible pathology.  As
mentioned earlier, significant hair loss can be a sign of a low
thyroid.
