Hi All,

Up to this point, I've been a "lurker" on LACTNET, prior to taking the LC
exam last July and since then. Now I have a question that I hope someone
can help me with.

I just received notice that I've been called for jury duty at the United
States District Court in Boston, MA. I have a 7-wk.-old son whom I'm
exclusively breastfeeding and will breastfeed till he weans himself.

There is a box on the form I'm to send back under "Grounds for Requesting
Excuse" that states "Persons having full time care and custody of their
child or children under ten years of age whose health and/or safety would
be jeopardized by their absence for jury service." Under a "Remarks"
section I must give further details.

In addition to my breastfeeding infant, I have 2 children in elementary
school and a pre-schooler at home with me.

Any suggestions on wording under "Remarks" to ensure that I am excused from
this jury duty and is there a way to not be called again until after my
child weans (without knowing when that will be.)?

Thank you for any suggestions~
