Just had a call from an outreach worker who had a mother of a ten day baby
call her for advice. Mom had decided to quit breastfeeding yesterday and a
friend told her to cover her breasts with camphor (?). After 24 hours and
baby fussy on formula, mom wants to return to breastfeeding and wonders if
camphor will have affect on baby? I couldn't find resources on camphor.
I'm assuming there's nothing in there that would be harmful as it is in lip
balms. But if anybody knows different, please let me know. Of course she
has stopped using it and washed her breasts. I'm not sure why someone
recommended this as a way to dry up, has anybody else heard of this?

Thanks,
