One more for the books:

My friend with twins is fighting yeast now, both babies and she have it.
She went to her OB/Gyn and this is what he told her:

He would only give her one pill (Diflucan - 200mg) because there was a risk
of cardiac problems with giving more than that, and that Yeast was only a
nuisance and not a medical problem/risk. He told her that she was lucky to
get the one pill. So she says to him "if you won't give me Diflucan, why
won't give me Nystatin that I can take internally to treat this yeast
systemically?" The Dr told her that there is no such drug for yeast that
you can take internally except Diflucan. He also told her that the only
reason that he gave her the one pill was because she brought in
documentation. She went in with my 98-99 Hale, the LLL LC Series with the
full Candadiasis section, and another handout on yeast. This woman is a
LLLL and knows her stuff. The Dr refused to treat her properly and refused
to even look at her documentation to see if maybe he could learn something.
Needless to say she is ticked.

She (and I) would like to know if this "Cardiac problem" is an excuse (lack
of knowledge) or if it is a real concern. I told her that I had never heard
of cardiac problems with Diflucan being a reason Drs would not prescribe.

Also, she is now wondering what more she can do for this yeast since she has
already been doing all the herbal/homeopathic remedies and the yeast is
really flaring.

She is with an HMO and I am currently trying to find a Dr I know in that HMO
to see if maybe he will treat her properly.

Please e-mail privately as I am no-mail at this time;

TIA,

Jay
