I am not aware of any "studies" which prove that syringe feeding is
good, bad or indifferent.  I just want to say that if a baby is
latching on to the breast, the syringe, cup, finger or anything else
except breastfeeding should *not* be used.  *The feeding tube at the
breast* while the baby is nursing is the best way of supplementing.
Babies learn to breastfeed *by* breastfeeding.
