The concept and terminology of posterior tongue-tie is pretty new, and the first-time response of practitioners to this label varies. Below is a list of articles that discuss this. You can get the abstracts and send the doctor an annotated bibliography. I would write a very nice letter asking the doc to review these articles, and then ask if you might set a time to meet and discuss this idea further. If you know of someone who has been clipping PTTs in your area, refer the oral surgeon to that person. I've specifically included Kotlow in the list below because of the dental background.
