Dear Friends:
I have a question about breastfeeding with breast implants. What sorts of
sensations do women report who have implants? Is the increased weight of the
breast (full of milk) a factor in those sensations?
The 46-year old mother is ready to quit breastfeeding. She is tired of
having her breasts be the focus of her life. She continues to use the nursing
pillow, and complains of breast tenderness and pain. I am going to do some
CST with her today and also work on positioning. I have not worked with a
woman with implants before and wonder how much of what is going on is due to
the implants.
I asked her about the breast surgery, which was in 1985. Certainly her
breasts were the focus of her life then, for a while. She doesn't remember it
being such a big deal. Sigh.
    Thanks for any responses.
    Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CSTP, CIMI
