<< quite frankly, Medela really doesn't need us IBCLC's so much anymore.
They are
too big and are too well known - and I agree with whoever it was who said
that we are unlikely (sad as it may be) to make a big difference by not
purchasing from or promoting them>>

That became very apparent when they started selling their pumps through Toys
R Us (a toy store, for those of you unfamiliar.). Remember the phone
calls/frustrations when people went to TRU and asked for info about pumps?
Getting a teen boy, or an equally unfamiliar person to "help" after
purchase. If not total embarrassment, it was completely, "I have no idea
what you're talking about."

I remember feeling very annoyed that many LLLLs wanted to get their phone
numbers to TRU so we could give free information on how to use the product.
What happened to the rental and sales stations who used to work with the
mothers (for a not very big profit)? A few years prior, many of us had our
Medela pump rentals and sales stations taken away. So what little money we
did make was now gone, and we were expected to work with the women giving
TRU and Medela large quantities of money, who justifiably needed assistance
with the product.

Best wishes,
Sam Doak
