I heard Mary Rose Tully (Human Milk Bank pro) speak about this very topic at a conference this past summer. Since that time, I have had one mom complain that her breastmilk smelled "like vomit", and that her infant would not take the bottle as a result. Once she began to heat the milk to scalding and feed it, the infant took it just fine and continues to do so at 8 months of age.
It seems that breastmilk heated to scalding is better than formula, and I know that vitamin C is lost in the heating process, but not sure about the IGA. I am interested to see other responses.
