I was SO overjoyed about the gentle progress Pam W. is having with her
son's condition I couldn't wait to shout at the mountain top I ran to work
even in sight of our emergency perinatal meeting and told everyone!
(including the grandma of a baby whose mom quit pumping for her baby who is
10 days post-op for Hirshprungs colostomy and the baby is now having bloody
mucous after switching to formula: soy to cow w/iron base)  I hope they
won't be juggling formula for the next year.  THANK you Creator of the
UNIVERSE! you did a good job!

So this is not new to any of you but I came up with this short
interpretation of WBW for an uninformed HCP.......


PS. have a nice WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK august 1 to 7 every year. Theme
'97 " Breastfeeding is Friendly to the Environment"

Just think of all the cow manure and methane that won't be piling up, the
tin cans, plastic bottles and the petroleum fuel consumption to process the
stuff, not to mention saving soy beans for the adults to consume rather
than the allergic infants (that wouldn't be allergic if they weren't
exposed to the bovine milk anyway). less fertilizers used to feed the crops
that feed the cows so arable land could be used to grow plants for direct
human consumption. just think of all the parents that won't have to panic
during a hurricane or earth quake when there is no clean water to "waste"
washing bottles and no formula at the 7-ELEVEN...nice quiet gentle thoughts
aren't they?
I never thought about how "noisy" and obnoxious formula is.....formula
feeding impacts all people, young and old alike, even on the other side of
the world since we are the world's largest consumer of the
stuff......Mother's Milk is GREEN!
