I would suggest you call your local LLL Leader. Leaders are particularly
helpful and supportive with mothers who are nursing longer than others
in the community. There may be a toddler meeting nearby -- or it may be
worth the trip to go farther.

In my experience (personal and professional) *most* women go through ups
and downs with toddlers and older children nursing. I am trying to think
of someone I know who didn't... It is so common that I believe that it
is not because of society's expectations, I believe that nature designed
us that way, just as it designed that uncomfortable, impatient feeling
that occurs shortly before labour. :-) Of course, I know this all
depends on one's view of the world and perceptions of mothering; I like
to find meaning in biology as well as in the environment, social
structures, etc.
