Thanks for the comments from Kathy and Barbara on this issue. I think we
tend to forget that there are varying strengths of evidence and all are
valid. They range from the strongest- a prospective case controlled study to
the weakest- an individual case report, but just because it may be weak in
the continuum of evidence does not mean it is not valuable. Published (in a
reputable journal) cases which have undergone the scrutiny of peer review
are a little stronger than relation via  the net and JHL would love to
receive such submissions for consideration. The value of clinical
experience, especially in an area that is un-researched or under-researched,
cannot be ignored and the new publication "Current Issues in Clinical
Lactation" is a welcome addition to the evidence on which we base our
