Jan & Ione:

Well said! On the personal side - having experienced a medical childbirth
(in my ignorance) with all but a c/s, another hospital birth that was quite
medical but minus the meds, and finally (sigh of relief!!) 2 homebirths - I
can honestly say there is no comparison. The high from those last 2 births
carries over into every other aspect of my life, providing me with internal
encouragement.

As an LC my biggest concern with trend is that many who care for moms &
babes have never even seen an unmeddled birth and therefore have no basis
for what is normal in the postpartum as well - affecting bfing in a large
way! It sometimes feels as though we need to start all over...

Frustrated,
Debbie
