>>Does anyone else see problems with tongue sucking and no rooting?<<

Chris,
Now this is the question of the day. I've been wondering why I have seen so
many babies who apparently suck their tongue and don't want to draw a nipple
in *over* the tongue. I just can't quite bring myself to believe that nature
messes up so much..... Does anyone understand pharmacology enough to
attempt an explanation as to how labor drugs might translate into
tongue-sucking? I'm really wondering..... how do we go about trying to find
this out? And we only use Nubain and ITN's (intrathecals), regular epidurals
are uncommon........
