How do they instruct moms who bring in clolstrum/milk for babies who stay in-hospital? Our hospital follows the guidelines published by the milk banking association on how to collect and store mom's own milk for her hospitalized baby. We have had several diabetic moms pump antenatally and bring in colostrum but we don't have separate policies.

Subject: prenatal expression of colostrum
Does anyone in the US, working in a hospital, teach prenatal expression
of colostrum? If so do you have a policy or protocols you could share?
We are trying to implement this in our WIC program for those mothers
with GDM. We have written a policy and procedures using current milk
storage recommendations. The hospital where they will deliver has
liability concerns that they have no control over how the milk has been
expressed or stored at home. Would love to know if anyone else is doing
something similar/
