Thank you Pamela for your thoughtful posting.
I have the same concerns.  The Code was written in an era when pumping  and 
feeding breastmilk was not anticipated. It sorely needs updating.   I do 
not agree with the current "official" interpretation of the code.   
Recognizing that pump companies are for-profit entities, we need to recognize  our 
friends and enemies in the promotion of breastfeeding and breastmilk  feeding.
