Does it make sense that the hormones of lactation would cause the continued
loosness of muscles of the pelvic floor? Third child, 6 month old, nursing
well - mother has cystocele and rectocele and ob won't do the surgery until the
infant has been weaned for three months. Mother is weary of the pain and
concern regarding these conditions and may wean in a couple of months so she can
get on with the surgery.Infant was a premi and mom worked hard to achieve good
nursing. If it weren't for this, she would continue to nurse.
I assumed that only the hormones of pregnancy would affect the pelvic floor,
not the hormones of lactation...IAm I off base? Ideas, please.
