Just a comment - babies should NEVER be brought into a courtroom in North
America (and probably other places too) unless the mother knows for sure
that other children are allowed in there. Mothers have been held in
contempt or threatened with criminal charges for doing this. Never advise a
mother to bring her child into the courtroom either - can result in the
Judge becoming furious with the mother. Note that in Miami, Florida there
is a SIGN on the door saying 'no children or babies allowed' and they have
their reasons -

Anyway, it is almost always OK to have someone watch the baby in the hall -
to announce that the baby is nearby, and to let them know what the baby's
feeding schedule is - as with jury duty, emphasize the effects on mom's
breasts - not on the baby - when dealing with issues - Judges do not want
huge, swollen, leaking breasts in the courtroom...!
