Dear Becky,
Sounds like you've already told so many great strategies. The only
thing I might add is something Cathy Barger stated recently and that I
have also seen to work pretty well. That is to give the baby what he
wants when he is hungry, that is, some sucks from the bottle. Then when
he is a little satisfied that he is not starving, offer the breast. That
way baby will be more calm and less frustrated. Perhaps one of the
twins may accept the breast during the day.
In a case where a baby has a favorite breast, it seems to work best
to usually begin feedings on the favored side. When the baby is hungry,
it seems they like what is familiar and easy for them. That breast may
get a little bigger with higher milk production, but usually mom and baby
are the only ones who notice!
Good luck to you and this mom!
