Diane tells a great story about a mother gorilla's interactions with her 
baby.  Perhaps the reason she does not make eye contact with her baby is 
that in gorilla society, it's not polite to stare.  One looks down when 
approaching another gorilla.  Bet she was constantly watching him out of 
the corner of her eye!
