Jacquie,
Lots of things change milk composition. That is not to say that a 4 month old cannot derive benefit from
the milk of a one year old. What is the concern and evidence of the person who did not accept the milk?

In order to address the concern, it is important to know what the concern is.

Naomi

I always believed that mature milk is of stable composition (in broad
terms), though we also tout the magic of daily and weekly fluctuations to
suit the baby's changing needs. I haven't been able to find anything to
refute that.

However I heard today of a mother of a one-year-old being turned down as a
milk donor for a 4-month-old, as 'starting solids changes the milk
composition.' Really?!

Jacquie Nutt
