Forgive my delayed comment, but my server has been down.  Protein feeds are
prefered in infants with low blood suger, or at risk infants, because
although glucose feeds bring the blood glucose up quickly, it also falls
quickly.  Get that baby to breast early and often, or start mom pumping.
Newborns need protein to avoid quickly dropping blood sugars.
