 Evening Primrose Oil is often used in pregnancy, prescribed by Midwives
for mothers who have had "cervical dystocia" in previous
pregnancies/labors.  I personally used it after reading the recommendation
in the Midwifery Today issue on VBACs (from several years ago).  During the
last 6 weeks of pregnancy, the EPO can be topically applied to the cervix
during perineal massage and taken orally TID without apparent negative side
effects.
