I have worked with one gastric bypass who also did not gain wt.  The ped
thought the gastric bypass would have no impact on her milk.  I saw her after her
milk came in and the latch was good and about 2 ounces was transferred during
a 30 min feeding.  Another ped in the same group thought along my line of
thinking that there may not be enough fat in the milk. Mom supplemented and last I
spoke to her at 2 months she was putting infant to breast at every feeding
but also cont. to supplement and that was fine with her.
