This is the Master Cleanse--it is a kidney cleanse. I usually do it twice per year, but it is a very challenging
detox for anyone who is actually pretty toxic. Personally, I do not have the big fear of detoxing while bfing
that many folks do (and I think it is odd that those who do not tend to acknowledge the immense levels
of toxins in our food and environment tend to be the most adversarial about it), BUT I would not suggest
the MC in this situation. I actually never suggest it to mothers of nursing infants and RA is an inflammatory
disease and really quite easily treated (even reversed) with diet, exercise and some supplements. I had
two clients this past year diagnosed with RA. I got the first mom on an anti-inflammatory diet before she even
got into see he doc and many of her symptoms were gone before she saw him. I suggest she (and everyone)
read the book "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman, MD. She needs to get her vit D levels as well as other
fat-soluble vitamins normalized. Alkalinize her body. Eliminate ALL animal-milk products, meat, coffee, soda,
grains and processed foods. Eat as much raw as possible. No reason at all to stop bf.

I had a mother of 6 children, currently breastfeeding her 5 month old,
call me today regarding a cleansing diet and toxins in her breastmilk.
She recently was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She will be seeing
a specialist within the next several weeks. She knows the meds will not
be compatible with BF. She has read about a cleansing fasting diet of a
juice from lemons mixed with cayenne peppers. She wants to reduce her lab
vakues so she does not have to stop BF. She plan to pump and dump while
on this diet for 7-10 days but her question is then when can she resume
BF?

Thank you,
