RE: Copy of: Teen moms

On the subject of teen moms and bf -
I liked the posters that Indiana once made showing a very active jeans-clad
young lady with comments about the benefits of bf (more weight loss, flexibility
of schedule, ability to go anywhere, etc.) written around it. Mom is NOT shown
bf, but a beautiful baby is nearby. Don't know if they still make it, but it
was great - and I left mine at the clinic in St. Louis I used to work, as the
Spanish teens here don't read English much. I'd love to do one like it for us,
here. Perhaps another project...

On fat content of breast milk.
In the almost-20 years I've been an LLLL, I had only one case of this - we had a
mom show up at a meeting with a VERY sickly looking baby. My co-leader was
aware this mom had been very weight conscious throughout her pregnancy, but had
gained appropriately. Now that she delivered, she had decided to diet - NO fat
in her diet (even used mustard on dry toast to avoid margerine). We suggested
she increase the fat content, but she said she'd rather give up bf - and she did
:( . We never did a creamatocrit - would have been interesting...
