I think the preparations in New York City minimized loss of life even if
there is a lot of damage to property and to the subway system. I'm hoping
others in the path of the storms are safe and well.

In Brooklyn, two young adults were out walking a family dog last night, and
both young adults were killed by a falling tree. The young man was a
friend and co-worker of my daughter ( he was 23, she is 21, and they worked at
the same summer camp each year.) She is at an impromptu memorial
service/gathering for him, right now. The City did a great job trying to be prepared
and giving information to help keep people safe. Not everyone was saved by
it though, but I do think a lot of lives that would have been taken, were
not, because of that. We have power and heat and food, but our hearts go out
to this family, and to all the other families who have lost homes,
businesses, and even family members.

Peace,
Judy
