Are you paid by the hospital for lactation services? Then any
"profit" should be considered as offsetting the costs of providing
the lactation services rather than as profit for the hospital. Many
hospital services these days (at least where I am familiar with) are
being asked to be cost effective and not to be a "drain" on the rest
of the hospital. This was a major factor in getting the our
hospital pump rentals moved from the retail pharmacy (where profit
is not only OK, but expected) to the lactation services. Also a big
argument given to us for charging for outpatient visits was so that
we would be more "self sufficient" cost wise.

Winnie
