Nancy, are you out there? Had a case today of a mom who did not see her baby
for 24 hours after del b/o tachypnea, mild TTN probably, has resolved now, at
birth rate approx 80's. Couldn't this baby be on a pulse ox for monitoring on
moms chest just as easily as in a nursery on a warmer ? What do you think
about the cut off for breastfeeding and RR? Wont the baby instincively not
suck if she is breathing too fast? It is colostrum there is no danger if baby
aspirates the very small amt she would be getting, right? How can I convince
my docs of this? Lisa Mooney, RN,BSN
